FORD GPW TOOL WANNA BE'S

FORD MARKED TOOLS

In previous sections I have listed all Ford GPW tools that are Ford marked. These tools are: engine crank, wrench for drain plug, wheel hub nut wrench, and lug wrench. I have seen a photo of a similarly marked brake bleeder wrench, but have not seen the actual tool . Incorrect tools that sometimes show up in recently assembled jeep tool kits include:

1. Ford marked tire pumps are from a Model A or T made in the 1920's and 30's.

2. The Ford marked oil can was made prior to 1927 for use on a Model T.

3. Ford marked pliers are for a Model T or early Model A. One distinctive feature of these pliers is one handle ground to function as a screwdriver. Because this feature was sharp and usually cut your hand, this set of pliers was never too popular with mechanics.

4. The Ford marked wrenches are the wrong size combination. They are from the tool kit of a Model T or A made in the 1920's 30's.
