GPW 74042

A little bit of the history of this jeep is known: drove around in the Pacific on an airfield either as a "follow me" jeep or an aircraft tow, after the war it was brought back to the US and was on a list to be taken to a shooting range to be shot up ... Just before going to the range it was saved from certain death ! Update June 2006: frame is back from the blaster now hope to start building it up at the end of the month. Update 26th October 2006: today I sprayed the frame with its first coat of OD paint, next step: start building, finally ! Have a completely rebuilt post war geared engine dressed up as a wartime engine for this jeep. Update December 2010: been busy last few years and progress was slow, but still working on it, will get a reproduction tub. Update December 2017: rolling chassis, progress at last!
