Willys MB 103503

FYI, I saw no photos of the tags. DoD was stated below. Sold July 6, 2019. Were asking $20K As posted on ewillys.com and possibly on ebay: I Inherited this jeep… I know quite a bit about these but not everything by any means. The Prev owner owned it since 56. Things I know… -Original WILLYS Slat grill jeep… with real original WILLYS SCRIPT … VIN is 103503 – SEE Last pic of frame tag its been painted over like 50x but its readable.. Date of Delivery 12-10-41 -REBUILT MOTOR…. Sometime in the last 3 yrs or so… the jeep was gone thru…. motor has less than probably 200 miles on it.. Fires up nicely and purs nice too.. I wasn’t there when it was done of course but I know it has that few miles on it b/c soon after … he got sick and couldn’t use it anymore. And it shows b/c it all looks brand new.. it has been loved and cherished all its life since he owned it first in 1956.. it has pretty much always been stored inside a garage… or now in my shop…. except of course when he drove it… mainly around the 8 acre property he owned and 1 time on the road I know of for sure when I took him to dmv to help him reg it …. that was a few yrs ago… -It is a REAL and ORIGINAL 1941 slat grill jeep… it has the willys script on the back.. the correct toe board brackets under the hood and the correct brake line bracket in the back under the jeep …. no glove box of course…. and the slat grill.. -Also has the original short windshield…which im told dates this to an early slat grill…. DID SOME RESEARCH TODAY AND FOUND THE FOLLOWING Original characteristics it seems to have -early inkake manifold with no ports -non stamped cowel -square gas tank (SUMP I think its called).. -slat grill only radiator very rare and almost impossible to find (most the others you see have gussets that wrap around front – these are separate) -air baffles on sides still on original fenders and original hood too that all came with this jeep.. -slat grill only brake line braket underneath near back -slat grill only toe board gussets -slat grill only split back seats -lots of orignial tr bolts but lots of replacements too. Some of course looking not exc shape was changed. THE ABOVE SAYS THAT THIS JEEP WAS NEVER WRECKED AND HAS HAD MANY OF ITS ORIGINAL COMPONENTS ALL ITS LIFE…. -It definitely has repro combat wheels on it…They are new…. with new tires… firestone military type.. He wanted fresh tread and new wheels for safety… unfortunately I can’t find the original solid disc wheels on the property either…He told me in the past several times they are there but If they are I cant find them… -it has also been converted to 12 volt and has an after market starter and alternator… He wanted to not mess with the 6 volt system And living in a cold half the year climate he swapped to make it start immed. and it does…. this swap was done after having it all rebuilt … easy to swap back if wanted…. but those parts are not around the property either.. Not that I can find anyway…. -T84 trans that shifts thru all the gears nice etc… and drives well…. -It has the original to the jeep axles also… -The gauges all LOOK close to correct but the old ones were mostly not working… so im told those got replaced with repros… to make it easy and safe to drive -It was missing the pancake air cleaner and he didn’t have 1500 to get the correct repro so It has the later mb oil bath type that looks new…. its a repro… -It has the data plates that are repros too or at least they have to be because they are Like brand new. – It has the original to the jeep split back seats… also… -Overall… from my investigation and from what he told me over the years…. It is basically an All original Slat grill 1941 jeep that has a few Repro parts *as listed above…. it looks fabulous and drives excellent… just like this era jeep should drive in newer condition. Remember tho.. its not a honda.. it has non power steering and non power brakes.. I say this to those who have never driven this old type jeep… Everything is nice and tight tho… as it should be for this year… id think this is how they drove brand new… -I’m happy to answer questions I can … or for u purists… I can look for things and take pics…. But as I said.. all the things I know of to check are real.. The metal all is very very solid…. I knock all over it hard with my nuckles.. and it is solid. No soft spots. ****sale is as is… where is… and there is ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY… it is a 70 plus yr old vehicle… and I can’t begin to know all the exact history of this jeep.. it runs and drives and stops well…. everything seems to work great… and it looks very original and looks new to me… and it has new brakes and clutch and most all new wear parts that were replaced on rbld… PLEASE READ THIS… THIS add explains all of this FROM MY PROSPECTIVE.. YOUR STANDARDS MAY BE DIFFERENT. I AM NO EXPERT. feel free to SEND A MECHANIC OR COME LOOK AT IT FOR YOURSELF…. or ask questions or for additional pics of a specific part of the jeep
