GPW 52874

I purchased this jeep in January 2015 from a man in upstate New York. He purchased the jeep in Ohio a few years ago. It had been outside in the elements for many years. He began the restoration. He attempted to repair the tub, which was rusted through in many spots. Finally, he purchased a reproduction tub and proceeded with the restoration. I had the jeep shipped to California, where I have been finishing the restoration. I removed and replaced all of the valves, valve guides, and springs. I cleaned up the head and installed a new head gasket. I installed a rebuilt Carter 539S Carb, a rebuilt Fuel pump, and correct radiator hoses. The system is 6 volt. I installed a new optima battery in a reproduction case. The engine is numbers matching and correct with all WWII components. This jeep is a labor of love and a tribute to my grandfather Pvt. John V. Gallardo, US Army 43rd Infantry Division. Killed in Action on Luzon Island, Phillippines 14 March 45.
