GPW 2647

Early Ford GPW on a Midland frame. This is obviously a First Contract vehicle, assembled at Ford's Rouge plant in Dearborn, Michigan. Hood number is an estimate based on information provided by Tom Wolboldt. This vehicle was assembled in the first few weeks of GPW production! By Date of Delivery, this is the oldest GPW in Nebraska. The engine listed (GPW 2263) did not come with the jeep...it was a later acquisition but I intend to put it in this vehicle. To date, it's the earliest known Ford produced GPW block. All other known GPW blocks with lower numbers are Wilson Foundry blocks. ***At this time I'm trying to locate as many early original GPW parts I can for this rare and historically significant VEP GPW*** Looking for an original AC air cleaner! Please contact me at swoop737@aol.com if you have any early parts to sell or an engine closer to this vehicle's serial number.
