GPW 122779

Jeep is need of complete restoration. Engine turns over but has not started since 2003. All major parts are Ford, body and frame serial numbers match. This jeep was bought from the Army by Gilbert Phenes. He was a Bronze Star winner in 1945. He used it on his land as a hunting jeep, up here in Beaver Dams NY. He stenciled "The Wild Bunch" on the makeshift rear bumper and had truly loved the little jeep. He died in 2003, and I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase it from his son in 2008. Body and tub number are GPW-122779 7/15/43 is the dat of manufacture. The engine is Ford, but has a serial number of GPW-7656 a 1942 vintage. Its going to need a lot of work, but I definitely think it is worth it.
