This jeep was severely modified with axles under springs and 900x16 tires. Not much left of the body from the dash back. Floor rotted out. Frame rotted out from machine gun mount back. Everything coated in a rhinoliner type coating that didn't do very well protecting. Engine is rounded type flathead 4 that says "Willys" but no "jeep". Number on water pump boss reads 4LR160639. On the plus side it had all of the data plates, even the ones in brass describing the fording instructions. And the USNavy Bureau of Ships plate. The oil bath lacks the louvers in the back and has an additional tube coming out of the side for a snorkel. Hood has cut out for snorkel and bracket on the fender to hold the tube. "USMC" is visible on both sides of the hood. Also I've been unable to identify a couple things about it. On the back of the oil bath where the louvers should be there is a plate welded with two threaded holes that are plugged. Don't know what should go there. Also on the driver's side above the axe shield there is a hole that has a bakelite style insulator and that section of the body is reinforced with a thick plate of steel with small flat tip screws that have a protecting bracket around it. Way to professionally done to be a backyard job
