In 1984 I bought this MB, orginally an Italian Army Jeep, in the version modified by the O.A.R.E. (Army repairing workshop) in Bologna. Dismissed in 1958 (19 nov), was bought by a catholic priest Don Dino Bocchi (at that time there was a special offer for parishes to assure good and useful veichles dismissed from the army forces at a very low price). Then, in 1959 (26 jan) was bought by a geologist, Pietro Dainelli, of Florence (the papers show that the priest made a smart, little, speculation). I bought the MB in 1984 from mr. Dainelli. The original Italian army plate was E.I. 21574 (E.I. means Esercito Italiano, Italian Army). The current plate is FI 114779. In 1998 I found in a barn near Rome a body (substatially unmolested but without any accessory) and a frame (badly molested) matching numbers. I "merged" the two jeeps and I got an MB totally restored to original conditions wearing the 10th Mountain division markings. This unit was in Florence area during WWII.
