The above information I picked up from the data plate on the glove box. I have no idea about the original markings of this particular GPW. The jeep has early features such as a key type ignition and round muffler which I believe would be found on earlier jeeps. The Ford logo is found on the data plate and the "F" mark I found on parts thoughout the jeep. The body, frame and engine numbers I have not yet recorded but the engine does have a ribbed head with the "WILLYS" logo with "JEEP" just below. I will add more information when I come across it. I just aquired this jeep a week ago and i am begining its restoration. |
