M151 for sell,dropped to $250

Postby Frank USMC » Sat Nov 06, 2010 5:55 pm

I have a Marine M151, I do not remember if it is a A1 or A2 model. It is some what complete, but I am selling it as a parts jeep. The tires are holding air, comes with an extra hood, an extra bumper, I have no title. If I find any thing else here that is in the M151 family, I will throw it in.
$500 or best offer, maybe a military gun.
We are cleaning up and it needs to go.

That is neither an A1 nor an A2, it is a very early straight 151. Marine version. It would be somewhere between 1960 and 1963 would be my guess. I would say 1959 but that would be a first run and they are kind of rare and I don't think they came in a marine version.

It looks like someone put in an A2 steering wheel.

Definately an early one... but has the USMC front bumper and you can see the rear USMC shackles too. A2 steering wheel and later non-mag wheels. Would love to know the history of this one, and the body number on the tag under the grille! From what i always understood the Marines didn't purchase the early ones because they were still using the Mighty-Mites... wonder where they got it then? Having served in Iraq with the Marines in 2005, I can personally say thank you to the Army for a few items!

Sorry for not getting back to you on this, no it has not been sold. I have not been trying real hard to sell it. I plan on moving it from our one farm to here, so at that time I will pull the NATO canvas off it and get some better pictures of her.
Thanks for asking.

Too bad you're not any closer to California. Or that I am not in Goldsboro anymore. I would love to save this jeep.
