I use Gillespie 33070 from Ron. I really like this paint. It is very easy to apply, I think a good 8 year old could paint with it. Plus I like the authentic look of it. Some use TM9, the new formula and like that as well. I will stick with the old formula as I like the patina the paint gets after use, like the original surfaces.

Harleys....do NOT try to look at pictures of the paint on jeeps to try to decide what color you want to paint your jeep.
1) Ask for suggestions on what to use, the mfger and the number.
2) Buy a rattle can of each one and paint some sections of your jeep with each one (side, rear, side)
3) Walk around it and see which you like better in full sun, partial shade and after the sun is behind some trees or under a carport.
4) "Correct" does not always equal what you "like" in terms of each type available....
5) A jeep painted last weekend and one that has been washed, rubbed against and set in the sun will not look the same either....

Order a can of each and experiment with what YOU like on the actual jeep!

Ron is the owner of this web site, G503. Ron Fitzpatrick Jeep Parts. I agree with Chuck, buy a can of each and see what you like. It's a pretty personal thing.

It should be noted that bulk paint may not give the same results as a rattle can. The rattle can has zero variables. When you apply bulk paint, anything from the brand of reducer, to the amount of reducer to the cleanliness of the gun and the air pressure can affect the end result.

I applied some 33070 which came out semi-gloss at BEST, and I'd almost call it gloss paint.

When you DO decide on a color and order your bulk paint, don't scrimp on the amount of paint you put on and order a case of spray cans to use for touch ups. Spray cans and bulk from the same source (brand/supplier) will be a CLOSER match, so that when you touch up your jeep, it may not be as obvious.
