Sold on an Army auction in the mid 80`s. First owner`s father sold it when the owner was away......
The second owner had a "clever" idea of how to get the jeep from Oslo to his home in Northern Norway by a small one axle trailer. He took it apart and loaded his trailer with the rolling chassie. Body, fenders, hood, windshield etc was sent by train.
There was some problem with the money, so the prev. owner had to take the jeep back, but due to the long distance and the condition of the jeep he sold it to the guy that was hired to bring it back (third owner).
He had a brother in Trondheim with a garage where the jeep was stored for many years. In the late 90`s the 3rd owner worked in Oslo and he came in contact with some guys that promised him the could get it back together. I don`t know when he brought the jeep from Trondheim to Oslo, but it was stored inside for a few years in a garage before the owner of that place had to move, so the jeep was mowed outside. The body was placed on the chassis and all the parts stored in the jeep, but a few items where stolen and there was no progress on the jeep.
When I got in contact with the owner the jeep was in a sad condition and needed to be taken care of asap. He had lost interest and sold it to me.
I got it back together in 2008 but had to sell it due to space problems. A friend of mine bought it and promised to ask me first if he ever decided to sell it.
Two weeks ago he called me and told me he wanted to sell the jeep. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got it back this week and found out that he had put on less than 30 miles on the jeep since it left my garage in 2008. He had stored it on the cargo bed of his GMC back in 2008 and had not taken it down before June 2010.
I have the original Army maintenance papers, log book and some tools. I also have some photos of the jeep from the first owner and the original dash plate.
