WTB NOS M151A2 body

Postby Brian W. Emry » Fri Jun 04, 2010 10:40 am

Has anyone put together an M151A2 with all NOS parts?

I suspect the NOS tub would be the toughest part to find? Does anyone have a line on an A2 NOS tub?? What do you think it would cost?

How much do you think the other parts would cost?

Would this project be an award winner? Or is this just a bad idea?

If you want to buy an award winner outright it would be cheaper to buy one complete. I know of one being finished soon on the G838 if you are interested. I only know of one NOS body in existence but I am sure it will cost you BIG dollars. I would venture that if you could get the body for around 5 -6 K then to finish the project using all NOS would be around 25 - 30K +. It would just not be worth it. Some of the parts are not available NOS and where would you get all of the hardware? Nuts, bolt, screws, clips.

JMHO.

there was an ad on craigslist last week from a guy in el dorado calif, stating he had what you want for $2000. i did not investigate since i have an early 151, but you might want to look into it.

WOW! $18,000 for the tub and $6,000 for all the rest of the parts you have? Oor all the rest of the parts necessary to complete an M151A2?

Thanks,

:) ALL the parts that "WE HAVE" that came with it. Most are unopened boxes, if you are seriously interested, give Ed a call and "haggle" with him. :) Use the (0087) #

Thinking back, I bet there were +-50ea of these body tubs floating around back in the day...... I know where one ended up in about 2004, and I will get around to building it some day  I hope.......

Jeff,
WOW. Thank you for the post. This is impressive. A complete NOS M151A2. It has been done!

As you can see there is still at least one NOS boby still floating around. At $18,000.00 it is the impossible dream.

Thanks,
Brian

That was the body I was going to tell you about but I did not want to waste anyone's time if you were not prepared to spend upwards of 30 grand to do this. This hobby is not much cheaper than any other vintage car hobby. If you want to buy right into the top then you have to have a lot of cash on hand.
