Thank you all! I'm learning a lot about cargo bed!
Anyway, our work is on going: during the weekend , we painted with OD the cab, just to see if the body is still dented . We 're quiet satisfied! It's not perfect, but we decided to leave some "history's signs",just to show in future that this truck worked honestly for over 65 years!

Here's some photos of cab's history: wink::

Nice job and also a nice shade of OD! What paint are you using?

I bought it in Italy, from Batisti. He used a NOS part to reproduce the color.
I like very much this paint: it's easy to use and with a very nice shade!

I admire your approach to restoration, I did the same to my cab 3 years ago.

I'm not sure about the 8 on your hood, but when the First Special Service Force(FSSF) was moving thru Southern France in 1944, they were transported in trucks from the 8th Beach something(engineers/?) that had landed in S. France too. I have one photo of the 8 on the hood. I could never find out any more about it. When we restored our CCKW, we painted it to match this picture. Maybe your "8" marking was something in the same unit? I never understood the mixture because the pentagon on the bumper meant it was an FSSF truck.

Hi Ben!

These are some photos about my progress on my beauty:

Now I'm working on electrical hardness: I've a NOS rear end and a NOS cab hardness circuit. I have some problems understanding correct connections on junction blocks: manual is not clear and the NOS cables have strange colors dipending of years!
I'm still looking for electrical parts, like filters and condensators....maybe you can help me

It's always a great satisfaction when, after months, you jump on your CCKW and in a few minutes, you hear engine's sound! 8) 8) 8)

A good reason to keep on working!!!

I can help you with a NOS French Army LWB Chassis harness, I have one left, the codes are similar but wire is plastic coated. Frank von Rosensteil should have the set of terminal blocks used on the firewall, he also has NOS WWII Chassis harnesses. The filters are a bit difficult to locate, you can do without and install as they are found.
