Cheep Horn Fix

Postby Fred-D » Thu Dec 11, 2003 7:47 pm

Car Quest sells a small disk like horn that fits inside the original horn. All you got to do is gut the original. Trim out the center of main plate( the plate that all the guts are bolted to ) Useing haksaws and files. Being carful not to disturb the Vee like thing that holds the rear dome on. Put the new horn inside. Put some of that round insolating foam 1/2 dia. around horn then put the trimed out plate inplace. Solder up the wires and your done. Remember its 12 volts now don't know if a 6 volt is avalible. But the horn only costs $10 to $12 dollars and it worked for my 12 volt system great. And sounds great too.
