Looks fairly complete to me. But sure needs a full, frame off restauration. My M201 body was in worse shape. You can use pretty much all the replacement panels available for MB/GPW. There are differences here and there, but nothing dramatical. What is totally different is the right fender. But does not look like you need a new one anyway.

Should be slightly older than a 62, more like 61 or even 60.

Are you getting it?

Sure did! Here she is arriving at my shop. I found the frame number, 13542. I guess that makes it a 1961, same model year as me! So now to step back, hit the books and figure out how to begin.

Thanks for the replys.
Put 3 hours into it, and only one broken bolt so far. I just want to get going on the frame before I get too busy with work. Ill get the chasis going and cross the 24 volt bridge when I get there :D

Yes, it's the copy of the MB made by a french manufacturer who bought the licence to reproduce the MB in the 50's.
Early models are 6V and strictly the same than the MB, and after the 24v appear with his reinforced frame

You can check the difference on my blog (sorry in french)

Thanks to all for the help.

Well Ive been at it for a month now, and got to put some parts back on the frame today at least. Waiting for parts to overhaul the rear axel this week. Found the military number at the right rear of the frame: #2111437, but no malt tag. If the military number can be researched, please let me know.

Scott

I am almost tempted to find a clean M-201 to recondition with MB parts. There is nothing like having a good WWII style Jeep to drive. I have all the parts less body and chassis in NOS or unused Govt rebuilt condition to build one more WWII Jeep.
