GPW SN #1

Postby jeepjudith » Fri Mar 13, 2009 12:58 pm

Where is GPW SN #1? I know the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI had it in there collection years ago. And then sold it a while back (now the wish they didn't).

That was GP #1.

The jeep you are speaking of resides at the Veterans Memorial Museum in Huntsville, Alabama along with one of the finest collections of military jeeps from all the years. It is still in its original colors and running condition. Well worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

Ford Pygmy

Postby Zack Magnusson » Tue Mar 24, 2009 5:13 am

It's called the Pygmy. I posted some photos a while back: http://www.g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=111564&highlight=pygmy.

Ronnie's right. The Veteran's Memorial Museum is a fantastic museum. They've also got Shermans, Stuarts, Halftrack, Command Car, the Humvee prototype, you name it. Go to Huntsville. You'll be glad you did.

Here's their website: http://www.memorialmuseum.org/.

As soon as I have GPW #1 in my collection I will let everyone know!

I did get to get some "hands on" time with GP #1 in Mobile a few years back! She's in beautiful shape!
