Restoring an M825! Need Help

Postby sherwan » Tue Feb 24, 2009 8:19 am

Hi

I am restoring a M825, recently bought it from a guy. I live in in Pakistan, the M825 was retired from the Pakistani Army in 2007. I'm looking for any sort of advice, regarding where to buy parts (who ship internationally) and any sort of tech info, because parts are very to get a hold of over here, because these are only owned by the army.

Sherwan, I am not very well versed on the 825 but if you go over to the G838.org there is another member from Pakistan named sarmadq. He might be a good person to contact for parts over there.

Well Muttguru's research might come in handy.

can any one tell me why is there a big box with a huge rocket sized motor in it under the dash in front of the passenger side? (above where the guy sitting next to you puts his feet)

Are you serious? lol

because from where i see and have my tiny brain's understanding, it's somehow related to warm up something in the engine.

hehehe no it really is to heat the interior of the jeep and it's occupants.
It transfers heat obtained from the engine coolant.

Ok. but why do you need a heater in an open vehicle (Mine is M825) it doesn't make sense.

Not all models of the M151 came from the factory. Some of the models were manufactured from existing M151s. In this case, they probably made your M825 from a regular M151 that happened to have a heater kit installed. If you ever remove or replace the heater assembly, you will know why it was just left there.
