That's neat! I have #12078/ DOD 2 APR 42 and lived her whole life in Texas! I bet yours is a Dallas plant. Could we see some photos? If she's original, it might answer a whoooole big bunch of questions!!

Does yours have a short or tall x-over tube
That would be a STRONG indicator, especially if it is a tall one 
I could see a tall being swapped out along with a pancake AC for later but not vice-versa

The tall cross-over tube seems to have lasted way past the change in air cleaner brands. At this time I don't have a firm change-over date from the tall to short for the cross-over pipe.

As far as I know "NellyBelle" was on the cusp and could have gone either way. Same with the speedo that is in her.

Mike you are correct, and I'm sure I've answered or at least pondered that question before. I cannot remember the answer right now, and cannot reach it for a measurment.
