Classic Fuel Tank and Radiator Service

Postby Johnr » Sat Nov 29, 2008 8:30 pm

Hi all,

Has anyone here used this guy before for getting their tank and/or radiator reconditioned?

http://www.ftrs.com.au

I'm having a hard time finding someone that still does this sort of work in Canberra and will probably look at either taking them to Sydney or shipping somewhere else for the work to be done.

Thanks.

Hi John,
I use to work next door to him about 10 year ago.
We took the company cars there and paid the earth, It wasn't my compay so I didn't realy care.
I have a 1929 Fordson tractor and it was made in Cork Irland and they were only made there for one year and it has it stamped into the ends of the tank so they are like hens teeth. It had a rust hole in the bottom at one end. I took it to this prick one day and he told me that it was f#cked and I should just get another one.
I took it home and fixed it myself.
We never took the cars there ever again.
My mum always said if you can't say anything nice about someone don't say anything at all.
I have nothing more to say about him.

John,

If Bendigo Vic is not out of the Question a guy there rebuilt the radiator of my MB which was total replacment of everything between the top & bottom tanks.

The work was fantastic cost was $450.00 but cheaper than a re-pop. I don't think he does fuel tanks but he would know someone who would, Bendigo still has a few old school tradesmen.

Let me know & I will dig out his contact details.

I'm a Melbourne lad, so if you could come across those details it'd be much appreciated, my radiator will definitely need some work once I get it out.

Hello All,

Not sure about fuel tanks but "Rod's Radiators" down at Cowes, Phillip Island does a top notch radiator repair :)

He will restore good original or replace cores & do upper ? lower tank repairs

Good luck
