Hey I agree. That's a F-head engine for sure. How you going to close the hood? Just a thought to consider.

:( yes it is an f-head. the prev owner put it in and cut the hood. i wanted a flat head but couldn't find one cheap. i decided to go ahead and use it since the hood had been hacked and the engine runs good.

Hey that is no big deal if you run across one or get and fix one up all you will need is a hood.

Purty neat. Mine is in about that shape, only I still need to rebuild the steering gear box, it's in parts in coffee cans. My shop I built outta left over material from buildings I have built other people. It's 30 feet wide and 40 feet long and I am out of room. I have my '51 CJ scattered in there, a '65 Jeep wagoneer semi scattered, and a '50 Chevy pickup scattered in there. The better half won't let me bring any of them in the den. Narrow minded....... :D :D :D :D

i cleaned the frame and everything else with a wire wheel on my hand grinder. the paint is Krylon BBQ paint. it is supposed to be heavy duty paint. you can buy in quarts or spray cans.

Hey that paint really is, I have used it on light fixtures and a buddy of mine brought me a pump shotgun to strip and I was going to brown the barrel for him ,I couldn't figure out what the heck the finish was until he told me that is what he used on it.

Oh yeah, I could fill up 10,000 sq feet in a matter of days. I have one project partialy stripped for painting in my wifes stall of the car port so it won't rust. She told me I had to move it before frosty windshield time. Like I said, narrow minded. :D :D :D :D

I can tell you what really hurts. I have 5000sq ft of shop space but my wife wants me to keep it rented out so she has money to spend on new shoes and such. Now that is messed up priorities!

When I dragged my latest in, a '52 CJ, it was, and still is, in pieces. I dang near stold it, and my son and me were beside our selves while we un loaded the frame and engine, then the body, then boxes and five gallon cans of parts. My wife and daughter in law just looked at each other and shrugged. I told my son and year old grand son, "It's a guy thing, don't expect them to understand." Then to the better half," Now, go get us some iced tea, women!!"  :D :D :D
