Willys MB in a field

This old girl is in a field not far from my house. It`s been sitting in the same spot for years and slowly rotting away. I tried to contact the owner of the property by mail over a year ago but never received a response. Still a lot of good parts left on her but the front frame behind the bumper is rotted through and there is no engine. I picked up the radiator out of the grass and put it back under the hood. Maybe someday I will be fortunate and get her out of the field and into my back yard. Mark.

If you have the address of the owner, why don't you visit him/her and speak her out of this beauty!!! Don't do it next week or tomorrow do it TODAY !!

The owner lives out of state, somewhere in Connecticut. I got his name off some posted, private property signs that were on the land a year ago but now the signs are gone. I will keep trying. Mark

Visit the county assessor's [real estate property tax] office to get the name and mailing address of the property owner. Take in the street address, which they should be able to convert to parcel numbers to get the owner's data. Good luck ... she's a cute MB in need of some loving care.

I found out this evening that the owners live in Canada. I am going to the town tax assessors office an see if they can provide me some contact information. Hopefully they will and I can get a good address. I do agree it does need a good home. Thanks to all who provided feedback so far. Mark.

Wow! Even has the hood number. What some of us would not give to find one with the hood number. Let the owner know what a public service he would be providing, plus receiving a little money, plus cleaning up the outdoor environment. Cheers, and, in this case particularly, get them rolling.

Haul this thing out of the field. Store it at your home for some 2 years. If he comes at you, you either buy it from him, or return it and charge him for taking care of it. And if he does not show up, it is yours and restore this baby.

I think this guy does not even know there is a Jeep sitting in his field!!

That Jeep is a beauty. Seeing those hood numbers is like looking through a window into the past. It is your duty to get that into your garage, by means fair or foul, without further delay.

Well let me start by saying that the frame and glove box tags are gone. I am going back to write down the complete hood numbers. I forgot to do this the day I took the pictures. I have thought of just going to get it but I would rather do it the legal way. If that fails well you never know what will happen. Believe me if I did get it I could hide it real well. The car in the background is (I believe) a Dodge or Plymouth sedan. This is definatally restorable as well. I have a appointment with the tax assessors tonight to get the contact information and hopefully I will be sucessful. Thanks again for everyones responses and I will keep you all informed. Mark.

C'mon Fuzzy, you don't mean that.

The Jeep obviously is abandoned but it is not anyone other than the rightful owners and he or she should be contacted and an appeal made for MJ to try to recover or restore it. Then, if they refuse, go punch 'em!

Won't it be hard to contact the real owners? I heard they don't speak English in Canada?
