Parade?

Postby atavuss » Fri Jun 22, 2007 8:33 pm

anyone enter their Mule in a parade? If I can get the passenger seat bracket fabricated in time I will enter mine in our local 4th of July parade. my concern is will it harm the drivetrain seeing that the Mule is full time 4WD running on asphalt for a few miles? I have a bunch of metal and wooden ammo crates to throw on the Mule for the parade, any ideas of what else to throw on too? I hear that K and C rats were in cardboard boxes during Vietnam?

A flag (obviously) and camo netting works well too. I think if you stay in low transfer you won't have any issues...

I have been runner on the road for years all it does is wear out the tires, i know some guys that tow them on the roads at 40 mpg all the time.
BUT you should have ins on it , if something goes wrong !!!!

I ran my Mule in the local parade on the 4th. had to run it in 4Low and 1st gear as the other vehicles were going that slow. I stacked a few wooden and steel ammo cans on the Mule. after running the Mule for 45 minutes on a hot day I noticed it has a few heavy oil leaks that need to be fixed.

Chuckie,

Ed's mule has Goodyear 4 wheeler tires on it. I they are the same tires that came on my 1st mule. I still have my times mounted on the mule rims. My Polaris 500 4 wheeler has the same tires on the rear.

thanks Chuck, the tires are Goodyear "Tracker P" tires, the size is AT25x11-10
they are much more aggressive than the stock tires and are taller to boot. I tried to get the Mule stuck at Tower Park in the marshy area in 06 when I bought the mule but could not get it stuck.

tires..

Postby tbied2 » Mon Jul 09, 2007 4:15 pm

hi;.. those tires are "carlisle hd field trax 26x12x12 " .. work pretty good,, but they are a compromise.. they do not tear up the yard too bad,, but could use bigger cleats....

Thanks, guys! I think I have enough pieces to build a "work mule" to use around the yard, looking for a cheap alternative for tires :D
I'm also looking for several pieces of the engine shrouds if anybody has any extras.

I wish I had another Mule for a "beater" to use in the mountains to explore the back roads, sure don't want to use my low hours mule for that!
