Off-hand, I can think of about 14 mules in Alabama, not all are running (ahem....cheep mule driver). So we have a good share, but by no means do we corner the market! They are everywhere!!! There's even at least one right-hand drive in Oz!

Here's how to "join the club": http://www.ddmvpa.org Click on "JOIN"

well- i meant on the o'l gee here- anyways   . I curently have a 67 A1 Mutt that is not running and is really more than what i want to get into as my first MV. [especially since I'm only 14  ]. But, i think a mule might be more my size for now, if it's running and driving. I might even be willing to trade my Mutt for a half-way descent mule- but that will be later  .

By the way, does anyone here live near Lake Wedowee or 'bout 50 miles near there?

A mule would make a great first vehicle for a young collector. BUT - like any other MV, you need to know how it works, and how to work on it. You can't take it to the local garage, chances are they have never seen one, so you've got to know how to keep it running on your own. Collect the TM's, ask questions, visit rallies and talk to mule owners, chime-in here on the G, there are a great bunch of mule owners on this forum who are willing to help.

I'll check the club roster and see who we have in your area. Check the DD web site for upcoming events and try to make a few. Excellent show comming up in a couple of weeks at the U.S.S. Alabama in Mobile.

Working on one is really no problem for me. I think a mule would be a better first MV than a not-running 67 MUTT that i got from a second-hand man that got it from someone he knew was in the army and got one cut from Huntsville then *"professionally welded"* it back together. I think if i could start with something simple like a mule it would help build my expertice over the years before i get ready to tackle a full-blown jeep.

Mule at 10,000 feet and supported by an M-1009 and hauled by an m-1008.
