MULE: VG deck, great seat, mechanically sound, gas tank renu lined tank (needs new seal for fuel line access) The rails are good except rear rail bent up some, all deck plates in place and no extra holes in the deck. Electric start, tow bar, engine guard is there but bent up. I am not a mechanic so i'm not sure why it is skipping some when runnning. Replace the spark plug and it will run very good for a few days then back to running rough, but will idle fine. It has developed a decent leak out of a factory hole in possibly the bell housing? Good tires. Please email or call if interested. I can email a word file that has several pictures inside it.

Very straight shooter and will tell things sometimes even to the detriment of my deal just to make sure everyone is totally informed of what we are dealing with and all parties are satisfied.

Just talked to Rod, he's on his way home from Harrison, Arkansas with a really nice mule onboard. Hopefully he will post some photos soon.

All we left Alabama at 3am, drove 570 miles loaded up the mule, spent 30 minutes or so looking over Jeff's other OD toys and drove the 570 miles home. Arrived home at 12 midnight. I'll unload the mule in the morning.

My butt was still dragging today but I changed out the plugs to the Autolites and adjusted the carb and got the mule running like a sewing machine. As far as the "decent leak", I found the problem when I smelled the oil to see if it was engine oil or transaxle dope. It smelled like gasoline. That told me that my mechanical fuel pump had problems. I've seen engines before pump gasoline into the crankcase oil. I called Bill Watson and told him what the mule was doing and I suspected the diaphram problem on the fuel pump. Bill said I was right on in my thinking. After a couple of more questions with Bill, I've got a new fuel pump on the way from Bill. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow.


This is going to make either me or someone (if I decide to sell) a nice mule.

Ha, fuel pump.....wait until you try to change that puppy! Guess I am going to have to come take a look at the new toy.

You missed a good show at Auburn/Opelika, 14 vehicles, (5 mules) and an excellent air show. Here's three mules, (L to R) mine, Horace R., and Lamar R.......Rob Y. had two more that were down the vehicle line.

Wish Colorado wasn't so darn far from the repository of Dixie Cups, soft spoken southern women, moon pies and RC cola. Not necessarily in that order.

About that fuel pump. The rectangular one. Is there a replacement diaphragm around, can you make one or should you really just put a new or NOS one aside for good measure?

Can the darn thing be field fixed?

Well, 35 bucks for a new production fuel pump, it's hardly worth the effort to replace the diaphgram, and the pump's so hard to change, I think I'd rather put brand-r-new parts on
