The Chicago Rawhide C/R number CR 4938 was the right one and it takes 6 of them to do the three tranny shifter rods.
The National oil seal number will also cross.
Remember, the innermost seal goes in like a normal oil seal and the outermost seal goes in backwards.
Both the National and the CR oil Seals are a tad too deep but they work ok.

Maybe all these crosses will help somebody out.

Best regards to all,
John

Chuck,

Today I fixed the leak on the new mule and have a part number to report.

The drive shaft where it enters the Transmission uses a Federal Mogul/National seal # 471765. (This seal is 1.187 x 2.000 x 0.250) The orginal seal was thicker than the new seal so I used 2 new seals and put them in the same place as the old seal. They fit nicely and should never leak.

Rod, how about posting your experience with spark plugs and the numbers you finally wound up using, might be of help to others with the same problems.

My mules are picky as to the type and brand of plugs that they prefer. Both mules seemed lerthargic. with little power using either the Champion XMD15 or the Autolite 2223 plugs gapped to 29/1000ths.

My mules prefer the Champion XMD21 plugs gapped to 29/1000ths.

The new plugs make the mules run like they should.

Anybody have the correct number for the hub seal ? It's leaking oil up next to the inside of the wheel. I'll also have to check and fix the rubber boot but this is not the only problem.

Found an old seal that I pulled out of a hub, has "508527 C/R" on it, I assume the "C/R" is Chicago/Rawhide.

Chuck,

I went to O'riellies and they could not cross-reference the number "508527 C/R".

Anybody know anything else?

Chuckie & all,

I spent about an hour online last night and this morning looking thru the National Oil Seal book at O'Rielly Auto Parts this morning to see if I could match the size of the seal. I believe I have found the correct part number for the National seal for the front hub on the mules. I have ordered 3 seals and they will be here Friday morning. I will post the correct part number once I have seal in hand and have a chance to see if if fits.
