Well...... I do ...and I dont own a Slatgrill !
When I bought my Jeep project it had a slatgrill ...and still does.
The data plates on the glove box has original plates c/n MB 130700 which is outside the slatgrill range. I like to tell myself that somewhere in its war history its flatgrill became damaged ...and all that was in stock was a slatgrill !

Okay, I'm well into restoring a Willys script with the original brass data plates and following numbers. (I'm correcting my earlier post):

Frame: 116882
Data Plate: 129869 DoD 3-23-42
Engine: (GPW) 144132
Tub: 20395

It was first titled in 1950 but never restored and kept by one owner in his basement who is now about 80 years old. The body is a script, has no glovebox, twin-hinge tool box covers, etc, all showing plenty of use. It had the early battery tray, "embossed" air filter, brass latches, correct gas tank, correct instruments (except for ammeter), green completely plastic steering wheel, with wartime update to later windshield, black-out light, had a hole added for trailer hookup. Interesting that I've got an Army Air Force photo of a slat grill like this in use on Saipan in November '44.

Everything about this thing is slat grill. So what's up with the body number and date of delivery?

Not much of a restoration needed as the frame is practically new, and the tub is very restorable. Just need to find somebody who can do clean work around the sump, hat channels, and quarter panels. Much too solid to discard. It'll just show a lot of character.

Whats up with your "body number" and DOD is simple...that is the serial number and DOD from another jeep....that is the correct DOD for an MB in that serial number range...it should match the frame number but does not...so something has been changed....the tub or the data tag or ??

your tub number is found on the gusset near the steering column in the engine bay and shoul be around 18,000 +/-

The engine is from an MB in the 140XXX to 141XXX range, not a slat grille

since you do not have a numbers matching jeep....and with the other upgrades you mention, it seems to have been to a rebuild at some point.

You may want to reconsider adding Joe Halls info to your list....while his engine is a slat motor...the tub is not....Slat tubs start at number 2000,
so his tub number sounds like a composite.
