umbilical cord

Postby Action » Mon Feb 14, 2005 9:02 am

I have a thick cable coming out of the top of the tunnel. It is between the engine cover and the passenger tunnel side padding. It is about 4 or 5 feet long.

Is this on every Humvee? What is it used for? The plug on the end has a hole in the center, with 4 smaller holes around it. One of the smaller holes looks to be filled in, or the plig broke in it.

Thanks,
Jason

It's normal. Power supply for missile launcher etc. Nothing to bother about. In fact, I have to replace mine so feel lucky!

Jason,

Sounds like what you have is the CX-4720 power feed for the radio mount. It should have 4 clear female sockets so you probably have a pin broken off in one of them. If you follow it back it most likely goes to the starter and could be a good source for 24 volts in the vehicle if you plan on using anything that needs 24 volts.
