What lube do you use for points

Post by Ben Hovis » Wed Aug 09, 2017 6:50 am

Somehow I lost my small tube of points lube for my points. Not sure who if anyone sells the small tubes?
Thought I could mix up small quantity of high temp axle or lube grease and add a small amount of graphite. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ben

Dielectric grease. All petroleum products are insulators. Dielectric grease is also but, it has what we call a low press point. Meaning the grease gets out of the way and allows electrical contact while filling in all the air gaps to avoid corrosion.

Black graphite grease.
I keep it in tubes for a grease gun and I have a 1 pound can with a plastic lid. Got both at NAPA.

Thank you.
I was able to visit with the tech department of lubing products and they thought the graphite would work best too.
Appreciate your help.
