Happiness is... USN Galvanized Bucket

Post by AZ Jeff » Fri Jul 14, 2017 3:06 pm

Found this today while checking vintage galvanized buckets in antique malls for the elusive "strap bottom" (halftrack type) examples...

Cincinatti Galvanizing Company. Haven't seen a Navy marked bucket before, let alone a galvanized strap bottom example. Another Navy piece for the High Desert collection :D

Mark, certainly a WW2 era bucket design (confirmed in period photos of halftracks) but I think they go back farther, possibly WWI? I've had otherwise identical buckets -- "US" marked -- but without the reinforced bottom.

Side and top photos of the bucket, please. :D

Ah, I saw your reference to halftracks but the Navy does have those... so maybe on a ship?
