Hi sae is society of automotive engineers started in the us around 1905 to try to standardise engineering stuf one of which is the bolt pattern and size of the rear of a engine that a bell housing/clutch housing bolts up to.
Cummins,Detroit, caterpillar etc used in trucks build to this so was interested if I could use the clutch housing of a gaa on another engine i.e. Detroit 6v-53t that's if the gaa was built to these standards as it was not a truck engine.

I checked the housing, the GAA is bigger than series 1 housing (approx 22'' dia) and the bolts are only 3/8 spaced at 5.75''. It also uses very large dowels greater than 11/4''.
I have some extra spares and engine mounts I will sell. Marc
