G506 Rifle Rack Bracket

Post by 42cargo » Sat Mar 18, 2017 1:53 pm

If anyone has one of these brackets to mount the butt end of the rifle rack that they want to part with, feel free to give me a shout. I had this on a truck I sold and wish that I had kept it.

Thanks,

John

I always wonder how the co driver wiggled around that when he got in or out of the truck.

Without the rifle, it wasn't so bad. But when you had one in place, it was definitely tight.

It's not a good location for passengers with big feet. Good chance for a guy to go to the ground face first.

Hi John, I am not doing this to "get your goat", I just can't believe that my Chevy will have a scabbard in which to park an M-1 Garand. A very nice man who lives near me told me stop by on my way home from work today. This is what He presented to me upon my arrival at His Domicile. I happen to have a spare dash that is very nice and devoid of extra holes with a lovely rust free glove-box that will go into His truck, and the one He has with the captive nut for the scabbard will go in my truck. Sorry Brother  .

I imagine that I could have it repro'ed.

I'm in no rush, Dave. And that's excellent that you have one of these. From the one I had, I know these would be relatively easy to reproduce, so hang onto that one and if the time ever comes, I might ask to get measurements. In the meantime, if you come across another, let me know. Also, while I'm compiling my "wish list", let keep me in mind if you ever come across two of those brackets to mount the radio suppressor to the generator. Yes, that's right, two. The first one will be for you, I'll take the second!

I will keep my eyes peeled for that Gen. Filter John. If I remember correctly, the nice man is going to remove the filters from the firewall of his truck and not use them. I can call and ask him tomorrow if this is true. If he says yes, I'll put you guys in contact. Hows-bow-dat?

That would be great, Dave. If you have the chance, feel free to show him these photos of the filter/bracket I'm looking for. The filter itself is not unique as it's also used on the firewall, but the bracket as seen in the upper part of the last photo is the hard part to find. (And thanks to Cody, whom I borrowed these reference photos from.)

BTW, Dave, I put a check in the mail on Monday for the PTO bearing. If it's not enough, let me know.

Hello John, I do not have that bracket on mine, as engine was changed out years ago, I have the filter on fire wall and a wire went to generator.

John, thank you for sending a check, however it really wasn't necessary. I should've told you that earlier, sorry. It will be waaaay more than enough. I really was just excited to know that your quest for the bushing was over. Even if you didn't have a truck any longer.
I'll keep my eyes open for the generator filter and mount. :)
