The last price I saw for one of these was $1200.00 US, but that was probably close to 10 years ago. You might check with Brent Mullins (Brent Mullins Jeep Parts). He has had these for sale in the past and my still have some.

Also, you might contact Craig Johnson at: Handcartz@gmail.com

Craig has more knowledge about these than do I.

Best of luck with your project.

thanks Ardennes and also airborne
airborne a final quesions for you, you wrote you had seen some in Ciney
how was the condition, and did they have all the accesories with them, like the pulling bar, pulling rope with handle,s
and most important were the clambs on there, to screw in the tripod
problem is, my main intrest wil be for the tripod and cradle, i,m less interested in the cart itself, but it,s a complete deal package
i hate to be stuck with a handcart that would only be wurth a few hundred dollars, even iff it,s completely restored and has all in,s and out,s that it needs to have with it..
according to the prices i now have heared, i think an amount from 1000 to 1500 dollar would be fair for such a restored cart and the accesoires,
thanks for the input.. regards, J.

Most if not all of the Marine Corps carts that have turned up for sale in Europa have come from ex-Dutch Marines stock...
They generally sell for the prices mentioned, without the M1917 Tripod brackets...

They are not, and will never be, as popular in the ETO as the Army carts with 12" wheels... Contrary to the latter these USMC carts did not see action in Europe during WW2 and hence are less attractive for European collectors...

You do see them at vehicle meets and re-enactment events where they are usually portrayed and/or used as Army equipment which they are not...

The MG brackets and cradle were not really used on the Army handcarts in Europe either... They are nice and interesting collection wise though...

A selection of pictures showing Army handcarts in use in Europe during WW2 can be found on this page of my website:

hy, thanks to all who replied
i went out today and picked up the cart with tripod and cradle
reading all coments, i have desided to keep the tripod, cradle and the tripod brackets
the cart itself with towing bar, and the towing rope, wil be put up for sale
i think the tripod brackers for themselves wil be valuable any way, so i,m gonna keep those for awhile
thanks !!
