Flashlight questions?

Postby Wendy » Thu May 20, 2004 2:11 pm

Howdy! :D
I saw a flashlight 4-sale and wondered if it was a WWII one? It is grey and has U.S.N. on it. The lense is plastic with a rounded top. It has a 3 way switch. Along the side say's "Fulton" and on the bottom "Delta". Does anyone have information on these? It has a older look to it.
Also, where there small pin on lights that pilots wore in WWII"? Kinda like very mini-flashlights. Maybe to pin on their jackets? If anyone knows about these I'd love to know!!!
Thank you,
Wendy

I'm not sure about the battery? I'll have to go back to the store and check it out. I plan on going back tomorrow. I'll let you know. It had a clear lense. My digi-camera's out of commision for a couple of weeks so I can't post a pic.
Thanks,
Wendy

It does sound like the emergency lights for use in aircraft and life rafts. 3 way switch is on off and flash if I remember correctly. They can still be found on board US Navy ships.

Wendy,

The small, pin-on type marker light should be metal if it's WWII. Grey plastic ones are post-WWII.

Hi Guys!
This is a picture I found online of one of my flashlights. It is from the Flashlight Museum. This one is dated 1942. The one I have is exactly the same only add a touch of rust. And this one is metal. On the bottom it reads USN and below that is BMG, I'm guessing that is the manufacturer?
I'm still looking for a pic of the other.
Cheers! And thanks for your help! Oh, the other is plastic, takes 2 D batteries, it is grey and has ribs that run down the length of the flashlight. The lense is domed and it looks old fashioned. It also has U.S.N. on it. ???
