M38 Modern Parts Cross Listing?

Postby bikeman » Sun Jul 22, 2012 2:41 pm

I figure some of you guys have either a list, or a document or something with this information...

Is there a cross list of Napa/Auto-Zone/Advanced Auto Parts/etc... that exists with common items? IE belts, oil filters, bulbs, bolts? Oil? Additives? Coolant?

Main reason I'm asking is I might need to put new belts on soon.

Why not buy the belts from a dealer and get the corect ones first try? NAPA and other Civilian Parts chains do not have a list for Military Jeeps.

I have found NAPA to be more expensive then AJP and Midwest. One time I found NAPA had a rubber brake hose that was marked up 77% more then AJP.

Support the military jeep suppliers if you can. They support us with great parts that they use on their own jeeps.

I have to agree with DayBoy.

I blew a wheel cylinder and was in a crunch to get a replacement quickly. Bought it from Napa. Cost me $60.00 I was shocked, and asked if they were selling me a complete set. I had purchased the same cylinder from Walcks a year ago for my other rear wheel. It cost me $18.00

I'm not knocking Napa. Just be diligent. Know the online price from Midwest, Ron Fitzpatrick, etc...before you buy from Napa.
