Optional Fuel Tank

Postby p38 » Thu Jun 07, 2012 12:35 am

Did the M38A1 have the option to have a fuel tank in place of the tool box under the passenger seat?

Thanks,

No. It had a jerry can on the back for extra fuel.

Thanks, I didn't think so. I could not find any reference to one in the parts book; but when I took my M38A1 to a local jeep club one of the members told me he had an NOS fuel tank - with built-in gauge, and was told years ago it fit the M38A1. Any ideas what it might fit?

Sounds like a outboard motor fuel tank for a boat - they seem to find their way into jeeps with gunked up fuel systems. "Will fit" is a very loose term, especially for Bubba!

Thanks - you are probably right. I'll try to stop by his place and get a look at it.
