Those are insulators for mounting the wire on outside off MP-48
You have to a loop in the wire so that the MP-48 can bend and not strech the antena wire

You have to unwind the cable from the spring that was just for storage
And put the end on to the radio you are connected thru the center off the base.

Correct but it was used as a flag pole not radio
And in the back it would interfere with the litter carrieing .
So they put it up front out off the way

Guys if you are mounting the MP50 on the rear next to the gas can, do you need an FT 429 back plate to help support the weight of the antenae gear?

If you want there are some reinforcment plates inside the Jeep consisting off just a flat plate with holes
But the antenna gear is not that heavy

Elvis although not needed i did make up 2 x re enforcing plates about the width of the hat channel across the rear panel and drilled the bolt holes to match the MP-50 bracket and aligned and fitted the bracket to suit and one inside the tool locker just to be on the safe side....

Hi Lloyd, thank you for the advice. I just got mine mounted in the same location and it seems pretty sturdy, so i will leave at that unless i am shown otherwise. :D
