m38 tool box lid latch

i have a 52 m38 is there a washer under the d-ring, or does the d ring rub directly on the lid it self. L pin, D ring, or L-pin, washer, D-ring? thanks

How I did mine. It is spring loaded. D ring, washer,spring,washer. push down, turn and latch.
