Postby Randy Weeks » Tue May 15, 2012 9:39 am

I'm pretty sure this is military. Any thougts as to the time period? The inside is marked "B.F. Goodrich Co".

Thanks,
Randy

I doubt it's WW2, I've never seen a WW2 rain coat/poncho with a zipper. My guess is Vietnam or 80s era.

I think it might be WWII. There was a special rubberized coverall made for handlers of chemical weapons that resembled what is shown. The photo isn't that great. If it is WWII there should be a tag inside on the flap behind the zipper. If it is a two piece then it is certainly post WWII,

I used to own one of the haz mat suits and I don't think this is it. The one I had was one piece top and bottom.

I think the zipper excludes it from WW2 also. They had buttons or snaps similar to what galoshes had. The chemical warfare had an apron, protective, impermeable M1 but it open in the back and put on like a doctors gown.
