Yes, you have to completely remove the drivers seat and install 2 cross bar supports. As well as a plate underneath the truck. The kit comes with everything you need, grade 8 nuts and bolts. As well as passenger / battery box hardware as well. The back seats are extra, you'll have to take the bases out and possibly redrill holes, we use large washers for better support. I've been looking for some suspension offroad seats to replace mine... I've never sat on these high back seats before...
how are they comfort wise? (I'm not to concerned with keeping the truck 100% original, but if these are comfortable seats, they will work for me.)

Can you post some pics. I have what appears to be high back seats in my HMMWV but I am not sure what the difference is between this kit and what I have. I don;t think I have ever seen seats that were "low back" in a HMMWV.

Not sure where you saw "low back". As far as I know there is only 1 high back seat for the Hmmwv. Now in civilian h1's the 04 and 06 model have a lower back.
