Soft top hardware lay out

Postby mike gardner » Sun May 13, 2012 7:18 am

Hello, I'm a cj2a owner. My cj is a very early 1945. I use my cj as a daily driver and have decided that the tops used on the MB or GPW. At the Aberdeen show this week Pete (due to possible litigation this name has been blocked) hooked me up with with all the hardware I need to put my top on my jeep. Now I need to find out the placing of the brackets on the body. I've searched the site and can't seem to find anything. Could any of you point me in the right direction or pass some measurements so I can get it set up correctly.
Thanks

Hi Mike,

Try Jon Rogers' site Jeepdraw.com. It is an EXCELLENT site and has a TON of great information. He can supply you with drawings of what you need.

This is what i get:
Image

The first hole is approximately 53-1/2" from the dash panel and 7/8" from the top of the tub.

This next one has me a little puzzled:
Image

The hole pattern is 32-1/8" from the dash and the top hole is 1-1/4" from the top of the tub. The bottom hole on this tub measures 1-7/8 from the top hole, but on a bow bracket that I have the holes are 1-5/8" apart :S. Maybe someone else can check there's but none the less, you can use the brackets you have to determine the spacing between holes.
