Well as a died in the wool GPW kinda guy I must share with all you Might type folks my experience in a mighty mite.
Back in April at the Tower Park Meet, Bill Hollinger brought up his Mite. Bill takes quite the ribbing from the rest of us in camp as we tell him he needs to go back to a REAL jeep. Bill just chuckles and says: Yea, just take a ride in one and you will change your mind. It is faster than a GPW, more comfortable, better suspension and so on.
Well, Bill talked me into taking a ride in his Mite. Now a Mite as you all know is nothing to look at... matter of fact to me it is down right homely. So I hoisted my behind in the passengers seat and Bill drove. I have a very bad back (3 prior surgeries) and I have minimal use of my left leg. I was worried about bumps jarring my back. Bill said just relax you ain't gonna feel em as the suspesion on a Mite is 100% better than a GPW.
In the main parking lot Bill cranked up the speed as we hit the first in a series of speed bumbs and to my surprise !!!!!!! I felt almost no jarring or back discomfort. Bill increased the speed on the second and third speed bumps and I think on the third we were doing close to 50 mph and we just glided right over that last speed bump...!!!!!!! I was to say the least impressed.
I am not gonna give up my GPW... BUT I will tell ya... If a Mite comes my way that is for sale... I will be seriously thinking about it.
Mitch
