You nailed it all. Just pay attention when buying the interconnect cables. I can't remember the whole list of what works and what doesn't, but know cables numbered 4723/VRC work. Basically you have to be careful with mixing Sincgars cables because some of them have the same connector but different pin outs. You can tell the Sincgars because they have a metal backshell that does a goofy twist. The ones that connect to the external speakers I think have different pinouts. I think these are cables with five digit numbers or the last two digits in the 90's. Sorry to be so vague.
