transfe case identification

Postby brent frank » Sun May 06, 2012 8:46 pm

so I am going through all my t cases. I know 2 for sure are mb. war time. but I have 2 others and I am not
sure of. they do say spicer on the back where the (F) would normally be on a script one. and one of my
others has some letters on that same spot it says C1s75-10-3 would that be a military one as well> is has od under the
other colors. 3 of them have the tag on top that say brown lipe? they are all pretty much the exact same size.
I just don't have a civilian one off of a t90 to compare with. is there an identification chart somewhere? thanks

Brown Lipe and Spicer are same Company. Actually the first CJ-2A Jeeps thru Chassis 24196 used the early 3/4" A-998 Shaft, but would have had the later Internal Expanding Parking Brake. Look for the Groove on the transfer Case for the Interlock that is installed between the shift rails at the rear of the transmission. The cases for the T-90 do not require this groove as the shift rails are in the T-90 Cover.
