FS: BUMPER TOW ROPES

Postby Wingnutt » Wed May 02, 2012 9:59 am

I have nine (9) ready-to-go tow ropes available. Each tow rope is ~20-21 feet in length and has a loop spliced in each end with a minimum of four tucks, with the ends sheared, seered, and whipped with excess twine from the same rope. These tow ropes were made from two different coils, as discussed below.

<< PRICES: $25 shipped to your door (CONUS only) / $15 with pick-up at Aberdeen Swap Meet - 9-11 May >>

PayPal, MoneyGram, Postal M.O. or cash by 8 May (Those not purchased by then will be hand-sold at Aberdeen)

BARN LOFT ROPE STOCK
I have six (6) made from this coil, a genuine 3-strand manila hemp with a nice aged appearance. I cut it off the block and tackle myself. The guy I acquired it from said it had been there at least twenty years. Please note that it is 3/4 INCH, not 1 INCH, although I am pleasantly surprised by how well it presents as a substitute for harder-to-find 1 INCH. It also has a short faint green tracer running through it in intervals of 3 inches. This tracer is so faint I didn't notice it until I opened the rope up to make the first splice.

THEATER PROP ROPE STOCK
I have three (3) available made from this coil, a genuine 3-strand manila hemp with a newer appearance, which came out of a community theater, where it had been used as a nautical stage prop. Please note that this is also 3/4 INCH and it also has a short green tracer running through it in intervals of 3 inches. This tracer is not noticeable at a distance, but it can be seen when up close.
