Postby Ernest Aguilar » Fri Apr 27, 2012 2:34 pm

Well if you can act quick this is a Chevy 1 1/2 ton *SOLD*. Anyone out that way?? its 50 miles North of Laramie WY. Found it on the Steel Soldier web site and its buy as is where is and it is not being parting out!.
I can't put anything together that quickly so far, and would love to see someone beat me out of this truck. I've asked for contact information or you can join the Steel Soldier web site. The fellow that posted this is doing his best to pass it along and save it from the scraper. If I get the contact infor I'll pass it along, but for now its:

I'll PM Paul in case he hasn't seen this. It might have some of the missing parts he needs.

Help!

Is their anyone in Wyoming that can work with me on this one? This truck has the early tow hooks that I have been hunting for, and may have the early parking brake mechanism that I also need.

Too far away and too little left to save the truck, but is their someone close willing to help me recover some badly needed parts for an old workhorse?

Time seems to be of the essence.

Thanks in advance.

It's a shame! Judging by the bed winch it started life as an earth borer / pole setter like mine, I'd love to get my hands on that winch! Laramie is about 10 - 12 hrs north of me........just a little too far. Sure wish it was in central / southern Colorado

Sleeve,

Do you know Bob Ibbotson? he is up that way currently and lives in Denver. I think he can move this to you, he was thinking of checking out the truck this weekend for me but I do not have a location for it. If you want his number send me a PM, maybe something can be set up.

Doesn't hurt to ask

10 hours away is pretty close. Asking price is only 2/7ths the going price of scrap steel. How many earth borers were produced? Odds are there are not too many parts floating around.

So Ernie, did you figure a way to save this one? Hope it can go somewhere else before the cutting torch.

Not yet.... need more money and a BIGGER yard  Bob, may have a plan and all it will take is money and time. Called the owners of the ranch but haven't heard anything back yet, I sure it will be just a matter of time. And if that wasn't bad enough Mark was kind enough to show me two more in So California. It's a mean world out there!

Nothing that I'm aware of, my call's to the Ranch have gone unanswered and Bob has left the area and will not be returning till mid May. There is very little that can be done but wait and see if someone calls.

It is a shame to see more restoration parts fall off of the radar. Hope it finds it's way back into the parts stream instead of the srappers torch.
