1941 WC17 1/2 ton Carryall

Postby RobS » Sun Apr 15, 2012 5:25 pm

Hi All
reside in sunny South Australia and am currently restoring a WC17. When I got it one side was badly damaged and this is now repaired and the body starting to look a lot better. At the moment looking for some parts. Firstly an exhaust manifold as the one on the engine I had was butchered big time when the vehicle was converted to rhd. This has the exhaust coming out at the rear of the manifold. For some reason can find lots that come out at the middle or front so typical.
Next also looking for some interior shots as well as seat frames both would be very useful.
As far as I know there are only two 1/2 carryalls in Australia and mine was the only one here since the war. It was used on the bomber bases in the Northern Territory to carry crews out to the bombers and then abandonded there until rescued by another collector in the 1980's.
finally have the time and money to finish this really interesting vehicle so heres hoping for a bit of help
Cheers Rob

Freight would be Expensive, but Vintage Power Wagons or Midwest Military here in the U.S., would be able to help you with some of your Parts. John Bizal, at Midwest Military is a great source of Information on the WC's.

Have used Midwest a few times, yes freight is expensive but not a lot of other options so thats what I do. However seats (exsept for the middle one and the exhaust manifold is not something John had

At the moment looking for either seat frames or good pics and dimensions so I can make them. Either would be a great help
