Hello, I´ve opened this topic to show all the pics of my "new" GPW and the assembly progress.
Any critic , advice or comment welcomed.
At this time, I´m not completely sure about what to do with this project...the frame is from december 1942 (86534) and the body tub is an original ACM Composite II.
To keep the factory originality I should purchase a repro Ford pre-composite body...and sincerely, I think that I prefer to use an original war-time body , altough it is a composite. So...having that in mind, my GPW would look as one made during mid 44-45, but being a 42...I think you call this a "motorpool restoration".
Let me show youthe pics.
Frame. The one at left.
Body. ACM Composite II
As you can see, the tub is in very good shape, with no rust, hat channels in good condition and the dash relatively unmolested. I think I should keep it unmolested and keep also its original features as rotary light switch (wrong for a 42 ).
