Parts Inquiry (NAB) Ceremonial Battery

Postby NAB (REP) » Sat Mar 17, 2012 12:00 pm

I am a representative of the Norwich Artillery Battery (AROTC) at Norwich University. The main part of our battery is made up of three 75mm M116 Pack Howitzers on the M8 carriage. We are currently looking for spare parts as well as maintenance parts to help keep the guns in working order. Our battery is used solely for ceremonial purposes and any materials in that regard would be also helpful. Also any information you may have or any directions you could us in would be very helpful.

Items of interest include:

Gun covers

Bore Brushes

Breach/breach parts

Ect…

My email is krau@student.norwich.edu if you need to contact me.

Here's a link to the Norwich University Independent Artillery Battery website...

Looks like a worthy cause. Wish I had a Pack 75 (boy do I wish I had a Pack 75) so I could donate spare parts.

Since the video doesn't work I have a few photos.
Also if anybody has any parts on the list I posted earlier or any items they think I might need, we recently received the go ahead on funding and I have all the acquisition forms necessary.

Fantastic photos! The cadets look like they had a blast. No pun intended. Nice to see these ole pieces are still serving.

shoot me an email for parts you are looking for. Do you have cleaning rods for the howitzers? Let me know, I can mail you machine drawings for the connector ends and shaft sizes. What about bore brushes? How far do you disassemble the pieces for cleaning? Thanks for sharing the photos.

All those young recruits, and I could only see one that appeared to perhaps be wearing hearing protection!?! I hope I just missed it, but if not, please make sure they have it and use it! BTW, what an awesome display!!

No need to worrie, when we are firing ear pro and eye pro are requirements, all the gun OIC's made sure their crews had these items on, note one of those photos is just a practice photo.

This weekend was Junior ring weekend at Norwich University, the Battery again conducted fire missions for both the parade and ceremony with 100% success. All Juniors from the Battery, myself included, were not firing and in our absence the MSI's and MSII's stepped up and performed well in our places. So here's to the ring and to the Battery!
