Hey John
Great looking project. Possibly a crated one, Did they handle both ford and willys at rockhampton and Birdsville? Unusual location for the ratio tag. Nice to see anyway. Hope to hear it running when im out in july :)

Not a lot of progress of late, however I did get to spend some time in the garage today.

Managed to lift off the old tub, and it is sad....

Transmission Date code of Feb 26, 1944.

Though I have spent some time trying to work out the Chassis number and estimate the USA Rego number.

Here goes...

The Engine number is 371922, the Tub is ACM2 and is 23298. The last two digits on the chassis were XXXX82. I am also guessing the DOD as March 3, 1944.

WIth some help of the internet, I found engine numbers of 372181 and 372792. in both cases the Chassis numbers were about 61500~ lower than the Engine.

Playing with Excel, I worked out a formula to calculate the Chassis number where the gap was between 61640 and 62600. Knowing the last two digits (82) I have calculated that the Chassis should be 310282.

With Robert's help (of Data Plates fame) I have calculated the USA Rego # as 20488278
GPW 204556
10 X 110S 1
USA 20536862

MB371922
ACM2 Tub 23298
